How should I clean my in-ear headphones

Do you also use in-ear headphones to enjoy songs or listen to other audio files? Then you've probably noticed that sometimes some earwax sticks to your ears. This is completely normal and doesn't mean that you don't clean your ears often enough. Everyone has earwax, and that's a good thing because it contributes to a healthy ear canal. Earwax can ward off pathogenic bacteria and fungi and protect the thin cornea from moisture and drying out. It also prevents dirt, dust and insects from getting into your ear. So don't go into your ear every day with a cotton swab to remove the earwax. This can even be harmful to your ears. But how do you make sure your earplugs stay clean? By cleaning them regularly! In this blog, you'll learn when and how you should clean your in-ear headphones.

When should I clean my in-ear headphones?

We recommend cleaning your in-ear headphones regularly by removing earwax and other debris. After all, not only does it look dirty when earwax sticks to the earbuds, but it can also be harmful to the ear canals. When earwax sticks to the earbuds, bacteria and dust also stick to them. This is not good for the health of your ears. In addition, this dirt can also affect the sound quality of your in-ear headphones. Regardless of whether you have wired or Bluetooth headphones , we recommend that you clean the earbuds immediately if you notice dirt sticking to them.

Now that you know how important it is to clean your in-ear headphones regularly, the question is how best to clean them. After all, your earplugs are quite fragile and cannot be cleaned with just any product. That's why we provide you with a small step-by-step plan.

So how do I clean my in-ear headphones? First of all, it is important that you disconnect your earphones from your mobile phone or any other device they are connected to. It is also advisable to carefully remove the ear tips, i.e. the silicone or rubber caps at the end of the earphones, from the headphones before cleaning.

Step two is to gently brush any visible dirt from the tips of your ears using a dry toothbrush or cotton swab. It's important to brush downwards and also keep the speakers facing downwards so the dirt doesn't fall into the earbuds. You can also gently scrape the earwax from the inside of the ear using a cotton swab.

The last step is to thoroughly clean your in-ear headphones with alcohol. To do this, put a small amount of disinfectant alcohol on a cotton swab and gently rub it over the earpieces (and the wire). Do not put too much alcohol on the cotton swab, as earplugs are usually not waterproof. You can also use a slightly damp cloth with water and a little soap.

    Completed?

Have you removed all the dirt and do the earplugs look clean again? Then put the earplugs back into your headphones. Now you can enjoy your earplugs again without worry! To keep them clean, it is best to store them in a case that is specially designed for earplugs. This is usually included in the purchase price. If you don't have a case yet, check out the offer at Einsteintech , Trusted Shop or contact one of our employees!
